Many adults are interested in having straight teeth. Did you know 1 out of every 5 orthodontic patients is over the age of 21?

There are many reasons why adults choose to have orthodontic treatment. Some had orthodontic treatment as teens, but have experienced a dental relapse. Others have put up with a less-than-perfect smile for many years because they didn't have the time to focus on their own needs between jobs, kids, and hectic schedules.

Whatever your reason, there is an orthodontic option that will give you the straight smile you want.

Here’s a list of our adult orthodontic services:

Traditional Orthodontics

A classic treatment for a classic smile!

Sometimes traditional treatment is the best option. This can be the case when there are bite misalignment problems along with crooked teeth.

Modern braces are much different than metal braces of the past. Metal braces today are made of lighter materials and are far less obvious. They are also more comfortable to wear. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the wearability of traditional metal braces.

Straight teeth are important for a few reasons. Having crooked, misaligned teeth often make people feel embarrassed about smiling. This may cause them to come across as unfriendly and can affect their social and business relationships.

A very important reason to straighten your teeth is for the health of your smile. Misaligned teeth can cause bite problems and are hard to keep free from bacteria and plaque. A straight smile is a healthier smile!

Having a straight, beautiful smile will make you feel good and look good.

Depending on the treatment option used and how crooked your teeth are, it can take a few months to a couple of years to straighten your smile.

Our team will explain in detail what you can expect regarding treatment time, the frequency of needed dental visits, and expected results of the option you choose.

Whether you're a kid or an adult, braces will feel tender at first, but it won't last. At worst, you'll have some soreness in your teeth, and chewing may be a challenge for a few days.

If you are using ClearCorrect, the aligners are removable making it very easy to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would.

With Six Month Smiles and traditional metal braces, keeping your teeth clean will take some extra time and care.

We recommend:
  • Rinsing your teeth with water before you brush to remove trapped food particles.
  • Brushing at the gumline at a 45-degree angle.
  • After brushing the gumline, place the toothbrush on top of the brackets, angling down to brush on top of each bracket.
  • Reposition the toothbrush to brush the bottom of the bracket and the wire, angling the toothbrush up.
  • Go slowly. Make sure to brush every tooth at the gumline as well as above and below the brackets.
  • Use a floss threader or soft toothpick to floss the teeth.
