Is there something better for straightening kids’ teeth than braces?
Myobrace® resolves orthodontic issues without using braces or needing to remove teeth.
Typical orthodontic treatment addresses the issue of crowded or crooked teeth by using braces to force the permanent teeth into a better position, or by removing teeth to provide more room for the teeth.
But, this method doesn’t solve the underlying causes of crooked teeth.
The Myobrace® System is preventive, pre-orthodontic treatment. It addresses the underlying causes of crooked teeth that are preventing proper jaw development.
It’s not always heredity or having teeth that are too big for your jaws.
It’s often improper jaw and facial development caused by bad oral habits.
Some of these incorrect habits include:
There are three stages to the Myobrace® System:
1. First Stage
This deals with these habits by teaching children to breathe through their nose, the proper tongue position, and how to swallow correctly while at the same time continuing to widen the jaws.
Proper jaw and facial development that has sufficient room for the teeth to come in naturally straight!
2. Second Stage
Myobrace® for Kids is for children over seven years old with underdeveloped jaws and is used in combination with habit correction therapy. It involves using a removable intra-oral appliance that is worn for 1-2 hours each day, plus overnight while sleeping.
3. Third Stage
When all the permanent teeth have erupted Myobrace® for Teens is used to align the teeth. An intra-oral appliance must be worn during the day and overnight.
Watch this short video to see first-hand how the Myobrace® System works.
Instead of focusing on forcing the permanent teeth to be straight, the Myobrace® system works to provide sufficient space for the permanent teeth to grow correctly in the first place.
According to the American Journal of Orthodontics, 90% of orthodontic cases treated with braces relapse when retainers are removed.
Myobrace® is a more natural and permanent solution for having a beautiful and healthy smile.

Since many of our patients are unfamiliar with Myobrace® orthodontic treatment, they often have questions.
Maybe you do, too.
Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about Myobrace®.
Q. How long does Myobrace® treatment take?
A. Myobrace® treatment time is usually about the same as required for treatment with braces. But, unlike braces, the Myobrace® appliance is removable and requires just one to two hours of use each day plus overnight while sleeping.
Q. What is the Myobrace® appliance made of?
A. It’s made of flexible silicone that is comfortable to wear, won’t chafe, and adapts to any arch-form.
Q. When should my child start treatment?
A. The earlier, the better! The best time to start Myobrace® treatment is between 5-10 years old. Because Myobrace® treatment promotes facial development and jaw growth by removing bad oral habits, the best results are often achieved early while the child is still growing.
Q. Can Myobrace® be used by adults?
A. Yes, it can. Myobrace® for Adults aligns teeth and corrects poor oral habits (also known as myofunctional habits) that are the real causes of crooked teeth and poor jaw growth.
Q. Is there a danger of relapse after the Myobrace® treatment is completed?
A. Because the Myobrace® system addresses the underlying myofunctional problems that cause crooked teeth, the probability of relapse is small. Dr. Pyle will closely monitor your child’s response to treatment and make needed adjustments to ensure a good outcome.
